Hi!!! I am Sabrina Leonard and am looking forward to working with you! I have a background in Criminal Justice along with a Bachelor's and Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice. During this time, I was enrolled as a non-traditional student who really could have used the assistance of a tutor; however, these services were not available. We all need assistance, but costs can sometimes be a deterrent or strong barrier to educational advancement. Twenty-two years of my life was spent fostering children in care and I enjoyed it. I am a certified ADHD Parent Coach for Calm & Connected, a facilitator for Darkness to Light bringing awareness to child sexual abuse prevention, and am currently a substitute teacher. I am also a certified parent instructor and NO, I don't know all the answers!! No one does! Thank you for allowing me to aid you on this educational journey! I love learning new things and feel this will definitely be my opportunity to do so!

Let's Have Fun Learning to Read!
I love teaching! I homeschooled my daughter for 4 years when the school told me she was unteachable. When I put her back into public school, she was almost at grade level, having risen from almost nothing in each subject. I've taught reading, math & various fun subjects in a homeschool co op for several years now, raising each child at least one grade level. I use sight words, videos, reading games, math games & lots of one on one work together. I've helped students who were dyslexic or reading way below their level. My classes have been requested by parents whose children were not able to read when we started. One of my favorite teaching tools are lapbooks. They are great for teaching a number of subjects. I’ve used them to teach history, geography, ocean life and lots more! The kids love them, they teach in bites, and are fun! I've cross stitched for over 50 years. I've done model stitching for a number of designers including, but not limited to, Stoney Creek, X's & Oh's, Linen Flowers Designs. I also quilt and have gifted & sold many quilts over the years. I would love to teach you or your child!
Mathematics Tutor
A middle grades math teacher with a passion for mathematics including algebra, geometry and my favorite trigonometry! I have always had a passion for math, even back to when I was in elementary school, middle school and high school. Let me help you understand mathematics the same way I do. We will approach and breakdown problems to make them easier to understand, especially word problems as most people have a hard time deciding what information is important and what information is merely there to distract you. Once you have mastered the techniques necessary you can apply them to any word problem you might encounter. Also, it is necessary to know what formulas to use and when you should and should not use them based on context. I currently possess a bachelor's degree in mathematics and will soon be starting on a master's degree in the same discipline. Allow me to have the chance to work with you and help you to enjoy math!

ACT, SAT, Math Tutor
Hi! I'm Logan. I'm a writer and editor in Philadelphia. I have published articles about science, economics, philosophy, and history. I also published a fiction novel. At heart, I'm passionate about improving society through spreading ideas through writing and education. I enjoy few activities more than explaining an idea to someone who is eager to learn about it. I have a BA in physics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MS in biology from the University of Houston. I have experience tutoring the SAT and ACT, as well as math for students from ages 12 - 18. I like to teach students by first offering tips and strategies, and then walking them through implementation by using examples. Also, I am very flexible when it comes to each student--I recognize that each student has slightly different needs and preferences, and I'm eager to modify my strategy to meet them where they are.
Professional Tutor
I am an enthusiastic and experienced tutor of multiple subjects across all age ranges. I have been a professional tutor for twenty plus years, and i chose tutoring over a classroom because I saw a need for something different. Many of my methods rely on understanding the basis of learning, and taking advantage of creative approaches. Mypassion is teaching readers, because reading has made my life amazing and I want to help others achieve the same success. With that said, I also love tutoring math, because seeing a student finally get it, and feeling their excitement, is pure joy. It is among my favorite things. Math, a subject that is typically difficult and not well liked, can be fun and interesting given the correct approach. Give my lessons a try, and you'll see, I offer something different and my students realize it as soon as they take their first class.
Dedicated Private Tutor
I recently obtained a Master's Degree in Education (M.Ed.) this October of 2024. Three years before my master’s, I also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Bilingual Education, along with a minor in Reading. I have four years of classroom experience in elementary education in Texas. I have taught English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Health and Social Studies at the elementary level. I have a comprehensive understanding of young learners' needs across core subjects. The reason I became an online tutor is because I got to experience virtual learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, while I was doing my student teaching and I found myself leaning more towards teaching online learning for elementary students. This experience led me to explore and advocate for engaging, flexible online learning environments that can effectively support young learners’ academic growth. My goal is to continue leveraging technology to enhance student engagement and meet the evolving needs of elementary education.
