I have taught Edmentum Credit Recovery for High School students. I have spent the last 2 years teaching Read 180/Math 180 to grades 6th -8th.I have been working with children since 1993.Read 180 /Math 180 is an intervention program to assist students who are in need of extra help.I started out working with Exceptional Children program .I worked with the Edmentum department assisting students who needed help in order to get credits that they needed in order to graduate or just go to their correct grade.My main goal is to help students succeed in their academics.Helping students to become better at whatever they are working on makes me feel good.My main subjects are reading and math.

I love teaching! I homeschooled my daughter for 4 years when the school told me she was unteachable. When I put her back into public school, she was almost at grade level, having risen from almost nothing in each subject. I've taught reading, math & various fun subjects in a homeschool co op for several years now, raising each child at least one grade level. I use sight words, videos, reading games, math games & lots of one on one work together. I've helped students who were dyslexic or reading way below their level. My classes have been requested by parents whose children were not able to read when we started. One of my favorite teaching tools are lapbooks. They are great for teaching a number of subjects. I’ve used them to teach history, geography, ocean life and lots more! The kids love them, they teach in bites, and are fun! I've cross stitched for over 50 years. I've done model stitching for a number of designers including, but not limited to, Stoney Creek, X's & Oh's, Linen Flowers Designs. I also quilt and have gifted & sold many quilts over the years. I would love to teach you or your child!

I have always had a passion for math, even back to when I was in elementary school, middle school and high school. Let me help you understand mathematics the same way I do. We will approach and breakdown problems to make them easier to understand, especially word problems as most people have a hard time deciding what information is important and what information is merely there to distract you. Once you have mastered the techniques necessary you can apply them to any word problem you might encounter. Also, it is necessary to know what formulas to use and when you should and should not use them based on context.
