Lauren prides herself on being a well-rounded mind as she has education ranging from the humanities to the hard sciences. Her initial degree was a double major in Theater and Literature from New College of Florida where she received a full-scholarship plus a merit stipend. From there, she spent nearly a decade in Los Angeles, both professionally acting and writing. Her editing work led to countless publications and even a script optioning by renowned director Robert Rodriguez. Lauren later returned to school at UCLA for a post-baccalaureate degree as a pre-med and maintained a 4.0 GPA. She currently works as a full-time STEM tutor and admissions essay editor, working both independently and for several boutique test prep companies. Lauren specializes in teaching biology, biochemistry, chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, SAT, ACT, MCAT, and most maths. I recently obtained a Master's Degree in Education (M.Ed.) this October of 2024. Three years before my master’s, I also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Bilingual Education, along with a minor in Reading. I have four years of classroom experience in elementary education in Texas. I have taught English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Health and Social Studies at the elementary level. I have a comprehensive understanding of young learners' needs across core subjects. The reason I became an online tutor is because I got to experience virtual learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, while I was doing my student teaching and I found myself leaning more towards teaching online learning for elementary students. This experience led me to explore and advocate for engaging, flexible online learning environments that can effectively support young learners’ academic growth. My goal is to continue leveraging technology to enhance student engagement and meet the evolving needs of elementary education.
